Seattle Temple Trip

Seattle Temple Trip

This week has probably been one of the best weeks that I’ve had on my mission.  On Tuesday I was able to go to the temple which as always is a great spiritual experience. I received a lot of answers to questions that I had.  On Wednesday we were able to have a lesson with a new investigator named Z who is 13.  He’s been around the church for a while, due to scouting, and his parents are interested in the church as well.  But they want us to just teach him for right now.  We were able to teach Z about the Restoration, and he loved it.  He’s very involved in learning what the gospel is all about.  Then on Sunday we were able to attend a live showing of the Lamb of God which was very exciting because they had it at our Stake Center.  The Lamb of God is an LDS produced musical narrative of Christ’s life. It was a very spiritual experience.

This week I was able to read to Alma 34.  The scripture that I want to talk about is in Alma chapter 31 verse 36.

” Now it came to pass that when Alma had said these words, that he clapped his  hands upon all them who were with him. And behold, as he clapped his hands upon them,  they were filled with the Holy Spirit.”

For a long time I never knew what it meant by “he clapped his hands upon their heads”.  I always thought that after he had prayed he clapped his hands and the Holy Ghost came and went with them but this week I felt prompted to look at the footnotes for this scripture.  When we take a look at the footnote 36b, it relates to “Hands, Laying on of” in the topical guide.  So in reality what Alma had done was he had given each member that had come with him to preach, a Priesthood Blessing, and through the blessing they were all given the guidance and protection of the Holy Ghost.

Anyway I hope everything is going alright for you,

Love you all!
